Transferring an MS Word Document to Joomla

It is difficult to transfer MS Word document formatting into ANY non-Microsoft program without losing much of your formatting. That said, here are some techniques for keeping as much of your formatting as possible:

1. Copy and Paste using "Paste from Word" icon (some times works)

2. Transfer Word doc as HTML

• First, from your Word doc, select "Save As"
• Choose "Web Page, Filtered" as the file type
• Open the htm file you have just created in Notepad (look in the Accessories section of Programs)
• Select and copy the html code from Notepad
• Click the html icon in your Joomla article editor

• Paste the code and click the html icon again to return to WYSIWYG editing mode
• Clean up any formatting that did not transfer correctly
